XRP’s official X account, run by Ripple and the XRPL Foundation, passed 111,000 followers within about 13 hours of its first post, and its debut ad has already drawn more 3.7 million views.
XRP Finally Got Its Own X Account and 111K People Showed up Overnight

Key Takeaways
- Ripple and the XRPL Foundation’s @XRP account topped 111,000 followers on Oct. 20, a day after its debut.
- The account’s first post drew 3.2 million views as XRP held near $1.30 and an $82 billion market cap.
- Ripple’s Swell 2026 runs Oct. 27-29 in New York, where Nasdaq-listed Evernorth has teased a surprise.
The Launch and the Subsequent Days
The @XRP handle was created on Oct. 15 but sat silent for four days. At 16:08 UTC on Oct. 19, the first post landed with a simple “hello, world. It’s about time” and Ripple replied six minutes later, saying:
For over a decade, we’ve built on the XRP Ledger alongside thousands of others.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse weighed in on the development, as did Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz, who asked whether it was “time for the Grateful Dead to create an @XRP song.”
Within three hours of its creation, the account had already passed 56,000 followers and at press time, the account had cleared the 111,000 mark.
What the Account Says XRP Is
The main account associated with the handle is the website xrp.org, a domain that spends most of its first screen explaining what XRP is not, saying XRP is not a meme, not a company share, not a stablecoin, and not mined or issued by Ripple.
The site then cites a 3-5 second settlement, fees under a penny, and a fixed 100 billion supply created in 2012, with fees burned over time.
For years, Ripple’s own feed did double duty as XRP’s public voice, which blurred the line regulators and newcomers kept asking about. Ripple President Monica Long postured the launch as a reward for early builders, writing:
“The best part has been watching people build on something before it was obvious.”
Lastly, while Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana have long had accounts people could tag, XRP holders had to pick between Ripple, the foundation or fan pages.
That said, the excitement has not moved the chart yet, with XRP trading at about $1.30 today with an unchanged $82.2 billion market cap, roughly where it has battled and stayed for days.
At the same time, bitcoin’s price has hovered near $82,000 with most of the interest being concentrated in a few places, including South Korea, where XRP has been outtrading bitcoin and ether on Upbit.
The Countdown to Swell
The timing looks deliberate as Ripple’s Swell account welcomed @XRP the same afternoon and noted that registration closes Oct. 20. The conference runs Oct. 27-29 at The Shed in Manhattan, with roughly 1,500 finance leaders expected.
Evernorth, the Nasdaq-listed XRP treasury company that recently rang the closing bell, added fuel hours later, posting that “something special is planned” for Swell 2026. It bears mentioning that the company plans to deploy 473 million XRP with partners including Ripple, Coinbase and Kraken.
