On Thursday, crypto’s total market value climbed to $4.12 trillion, advancing 2.15% against the U.S. dollar as bitcoin ( BTC) added 1.8% and ethereum ( ETH) leapt 2.8%. Several altcoins ditched the supporting-act role on Thursday, strutting in with double-digit gains that outshone bitcoin and ethereum’s headliner moves.

Altcoins Steal Thursday’s Spotlight

On Oct. 2, 2025, crypto’s market leaderboard read like a catwalk lineup, with assets parading 24-hour gains that couldn’t be ignored. Zcash (ZEC) took center stage with a 37.74% climb to $130.92, pulling in $1.27 billion in trading against a $2.12 billion market cap.

Dexe (DEXE) followed with a 24.18% lift to $12.93 on $65.2 million in volume and a $1.08 billion market cap. Etherfi (ETHFI) rose 12.13% with $137.6 million changing hands, giving its $828 million market cap some spotlight.

Aptos (APT) gained 10.02% to $5.11 on nearly $609 million in trades, reinforcing its $3.59 billion market cap. Cronos (CRO) carried the load with a 9.86% gain, anchored by a $7.58 billion market cap and $143.7 million in trades.

Monero ( XMR) stayed enigmatic, rising 8.77% to $332.66 with $317.1 million in activity against a $6.13 billion market cap. The meme coin SPX6900 (SPX) skipped subtlety altogether, climbing 9.17% as $66.1 million moved on its $1.15 billion market cap.

Ethena‘s ENA chimed in with an 8.41% rise, pulling $533 million in daily trades and holding a $4.36 billion market cap. Litecoin ( LTC), the market’s seasoned veteran, proved it still had rhythm with a 6.75% move to $119.16, backed by $1.52 billion in turnover against its $9.1 billion market cap.

Raydium (RAY) added a 6.27% lift to $2.98 on $66.8 million in trades, while aster (ASTER) grabbed attention with a 7.89% climb despite a negative 7-day run, balancing a $2.99 billion market cap with $1.02 billion in activity. Pancakeswap (CAKE) capped the set, rising 4.98% to $2.69 as $80.3 million changed hands on a $929.5 million market cap.

Oct. 2’s crypto roll call showed a mix of flair and staying power, with veterans like litecoin holding ground while upstart coins such as zcash and etherfi grabbed attention. Double-digit gains from several names reminded markets that momentum still flickers across sectors, leaving traders balancing curiosity and caution as October trading kicks into gear.
