During the Ethtaipei 2024 event in Taiwan, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin introduced βrainbow staking,β a new conceptual framework designed to allow protocol service providers to engage in a differentiated menu of protocol services. Rainbow staking aims to enhance the economic value and participation of solo stakers by integrating various protocol services in a more plug-and-play manner, and tackles the challenge of moving towards single-slot finality (SSF) with beneficial trade-offs. Additionally, in response to the potential risks posed by quantum computers, Buterin proposed a βrecovery hard forkβ to protect Ethereum from unauthorized access, highlighting the blockchainβs preparedness against such threats.
