RFK Jr.’s Blockchain Plan

U.S. presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) has unveiled his plan to put the entire U.S. budget on a blockchain if he is elected President of the United States.

During a campaign rally at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Michigan on April 21, Kennedy Jr. said: “I’m gonna put the entire U.S. budget on blockchain. Every American can look at every budget item in the entire budget, anytime they want, 24 hours a day.” The presidential hopeful added:

We’re gonna have 300 million eyeballs on our budget, and if somebody is spending $16,000 for a toilet seat, everybody’s gonna know about it.

Kennedy Jr. frequently expressed his commitment to transparency. Catherine Fitts, former U.S. Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), said in January that RFK Jr. is taking transparency to a whole new level.

The pro- bitcoin presidential candidate views BTC as the offramp from central banks’ “money printing machine.” Stating that bitcoin is a “hard currency,” he stressed the importance of making the cryptocurrency available to the American public. “Transactional freedom is as important as freedom of speech and you only get that from bitcoin,” he opined. RFK Jr. has also repeatedly said that “crypto equals freedom.” In March, he stated that cryptocurrency is the “best hedge against inflation,” emphasizing that crypto “takes control away from the government and from the monopolistic banking system.”

Kennedy Jr. has also warned about central bank digital currencies ( CBDCs). “We should be wary since CBDCs are the ultimate mechanisms for social surveillance and control,” he has cautioned. “While cash transactions are anonymous, a CBDC will allow the government to surveil all our private financial affairs. The central bank will have the power to enforce dollar limits on our transactions restricting where you can send money, where you can spend it, and when money expires.”
