Wright had asserted he was Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin’s creator, and sought damages from McCormack for allegedly defamatory statements. The court found that Wright’s claim was based on fraud and supported by forged documents, raising concerns about asset dissipation. Despite Wright’s objections, which included arguments against the purpose of the WFO and assurances of compliance, Justice James Mellor determined that the WFO and related enforcement measures were essential to secure McCormack’s potential recovery of legal costs. The judgment included orders for asset disclosure and enforcement in jurisdictions like Australia, Seychelles, Antigua, and Singapore.
