Former U.S. President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. While Trump was speaking, gunfire erupted, prompting Secret Service agents to rush him off the stage. Trump was seen with blood on the side of his head and his ear after the shots were fired, just minutes into his rally on Saturday.
Following the incident, Trump’s chance of winning the November presidential election saw an immediate rise in prediction markets. As of writing, the odds on Polymarket have risen to 68%.
According to reports, the shooter and at least one attendee are dead following gunfire at Trump’s rally.
Many people expressed support for Trump on social media. Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy wrote: “I just landed and missed an assassination attempt. Holy shit. What a bad ass reaction from Trump.
