Trump Promises Clear Frameworks for U.S. Crypto Leadership
At the Coinbase State of Crypto Summit, President Trump declared himself the “first crypto president,” citing a series of policy actions aimed at fostering innovation in digital finance.
He sharply criticized Joe Biden’s administration, asserting that the Democratic bureaucrats started a regulatory “war on crypto,” and credited his early initiatives with ending that approach. Trump referenced the termination of Operation Choke Point 2.0 and the establishment of the first presidential working group on digital assets.
Trump also highlighted the appointment of Paul Atkins as a “pro‑freedom, pro‑innovation” chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He emphasized the launch of two major programs: the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) and the United States Digital Asset Stockpile.
Looking ahead, the president said his administration is collaborating with Congress on the GENIUS Act, legislation designed to support the creation of dollar‑backed stablecoins. He also pledged to develop clear and straightforward frameworks to ensure American dominance in cryptocurrency and bitcoin markets.
The speech showcased a comprehensive outline of Trump’s second‑term crypto strategy. He framed digital assets as a cornerstone of future U.S. economic strength and competitiveness.
He concluded by congratulating summit attendees and expressing confidence in the cryptocurrency sector’s continued growth under his leadership.
