SUI Trader Eyes $5 Target as Expert Sees 'Early Recovery Signs'

Some analysts are calling SUI’s chart the “cleanest” in crypto at the moment, naming $5, $8, and $13 as potential near-term targets. The call that landed the same month, analyst Michael van de Poppe flagged SUI among altcoins showing “early signs of recovery.”

SUI Trader Eyes $5 Target as Expert Sees 'Early Recovery Signs'

Key Takeaways

  • Analysts have named $5, $8, and $13 as SUI targets for the rest of the year.
  • Michael van de Poppe flagged SUI’s “early recovery signs” on July 13, as the altcoin index hit 58.
  • Sui Foundation faced three major outages in the month of May resulting in 15 hours of combined downtime.

A Bullish Call, Unconfirmed by the Chart

Onchain analysts suggest that SUI has one of the cleanest charts in crypto right now, adding that “the higher timeframe structure still looks incredibly bullish.” They have now listed $5, $8, and $13 as the levels being watched, especially “if the uptrend continues from here.”

Sui technicals suggest an immense upside in the near to mid term.

That said, the aforementioned claim lands well ahead of where SUI actually trades, with the token sitting near $0.78, up a modest 1.6% over the past week. It remains 85.7% below its all-time high of $5.35, set in January 2025. In essence, hitting the first $5 target alone would require SUI to climb roughly sixfold from current levels.

The call, however, hasn’t happened in isolation, with crypto trader and analyst Michael van de Poppe recently naming SUI as one of the key altcoins he is “looking to accumulate“. Moreover, he also named SUI (alongside ARB, UNI, AAVE, ETHFI, NEAR, ZEC, and SOL) as coins “showing early signs of recovery,” as the broader altcoin season index climbed to 58.

Michael Van de Poppe comments of SUI.

Van de Poppe described infrastructure-layer tokens like SUI as “performing better and better,” a data point he said points to markets nearing a turnaround, and said he expects “other Layer-1s to be starting an uptrend.” That said, his read is directional and market-wide rather than a specific SUI price target, but it doesn’t confirm the $5-to-$13 range.

The Network Behind the Chart

Any read on SUI’s technical setup sits against the backdrop of the network’s own reliability record. The Sui Foundation confirmed in June that three mainnet outages on May 28 and 29, totaling more than 15 hours of combined downtime, stemmed from bugs introduced in a software upgrade (one involving gas-fee logic and a second involving the network’s randomness protocol failing to persist its state during validator restarts).

The foundation said user funds were never at risk and no confirmed transactions were reversed, and it has since rolled out fixes for both issues. That resolution matters for a chart-based bullish case, since network stability underpins the kind of sustained trading activity a “clean” technical setup needs to hold.
