Strike Launches Callback Phone Support

This article was published more than a year ago. Some information may no longer be current.

Bitcoin payments firm Strike now offers callback phone support to its verified U.S. customers. “We know that sometimes a phone conversation is the most effective way to get the help you need,” the company said when it officially announced the service on Thursday, also calling it “the best support experience in bitcoin.” Phone support is a rarity in the $3 trillion crypto industry despite the complexity of digital assets and persistent scams that have dogged the sector right from its inception. Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the U.S. has been criticized for its lackluster customer service despite raking in billions in revenue. In fact, one onchain fraud analyst claimed Coinbase users are losing $300 million annually to social engineering scams. Strike acknowledged the risk of telephone-based social engineering in its announcement. “We’ve implemented safeguards to protect against potential scams,” the firm said.
