Stepn Teams With Adidas to Issue Co-Branded Sneakers NFT Collection
Stepn, a move to earn and lifestyle application, is moving to establish partnership relations with big sports apparel names. The organization recently revealed a partnership with Adidas, the Germany-based sports clothing and apparel company, to issue a cobranded non-fungible token ( NFT) collection.
The Genesis Sneakers collection will be launched on top of Solana, featuring 1,000 unique items inspired by Adidas’ “most iconic running silhouettes,” as reported in a press release issued by Stepn. The collection marks the start of a joint one-year collaboration initiative between the two organizations that aims to produce additional NFT drops and physical items down the line.
Genesis sneakers will be launched in two phases. The first one will allow 200 loyal users to purchase a reserved NFT. The second phase will include a public raffle where the remaining NFTs will be offered to the general public.
Stepn remarked on the relevance of this “phygital” (physical and digital) initiative for similar rewards apps. Shiti Manghani, CEO of Stepn, stated:
That such a physical and digital – or ‘phygital’ – partnership between the most widely used lifestyle app and a global brand like Adidas are now a reality indicates the direction lifestyle rewards are going.
Stepn had hinted at this partnership before, stating that it would unveil a collaboration with “one of the world’s best-known sports brands” when it launched a $30 million points airdrop for its users. This airdrop mimics the mechanics applied by other projects, that use these points as a base to distribute tokens depending on the performance and terms of such campaigns.
Stepn previously partnered with DJ and music producer Steve Aoki, the anime series Ghost in the Shell, and the Atlético de Madrid soccer group.
