Startale Labs Bags $3.5M Capital Injection From UOB

Startale Labs, known for spearheading initiatives like the Astar Network and Startale Web3 Cloud, has confirmed securing a financial boost of $3.5 million. This infusion comes courtesy of UOB Venture Management, a branch of the Singaporean financial powerhouse UOB, in collaboration with Samsung Next, the corporate venture capital division of Samsung.

The dispatch to Bitcoin.com News elaborates that the newly acquired funds will be strategically used for hiring skilled personnel and advancing the development of Startale Labs’ range of products. Furthermore, beyond securing an extra $3.5 million, the startup has also announced a partnership with Sony Network Communications for the creation of a blockchain endeavor. Startale has expressed intentions to hasten the pace of development with the aid of these additional resources.

“We believe that onboarding new users to Web3 will be enabled by real-world use cases,” Paul Ng, the executive director of UOB Venture Management said in a statement. “We are excited to support Startale, who have the expertise and experience in building successful Web3 products, to bring billions of users to Web3,” the UOB Venture Management executive added.

Samsung Next, alongside its parent entity Samsung, is well-acquainted with the blockchain realm. Research unveiled in 2022 highlighted the South Korean tech behemoth as the top investor in cryptocurrency and blockchain ventures during the year. Directly, Samsung Next has funneled investments into several notable projects, including Axie Infinity, Alchemy, Nifty’s, The Sandbox, Superare, and Zengo, to name a few.

“Although Startale was established in January 2023, within a year, we have received support from leading Asian enterprises such as Sony, Samsung, and UOB Venture Management, significantly broadening our potential,” Sota Watanabe, the CEO of Startale Labs said. “With the funds raised, we aim to invest in product development and recruitment to create a truly representative Web3 company of Asia and beyond.”
