Samourai Wallet Co-Founders Poised to Flip Pleas: Report

At the heart of the case are Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill, co-founders of the bitcoin ( BTC) mixing platform Samourai Wallet. In 2024, both were hit with charges of conspiring to launder money and running an unlicensed money transmission service. Prosecutors claim the wallet was involved in moving more than $2 billion worth of illicit funds. On Tuesday afternoon, the indie outlet The Rage revealed that Rodriguez and Hill are preparing to change their pleas.

“Samourai Wallet developers Keonne Rodriguez and William Hill have notified the court of a change of plea – expected to plead guilty. Hearings scheduled for tomorrow, 10:00 and 10.30,” The Rage shared on X with screenshots of the court filings.
