Chris Pavlovski, founder and CEO of Rumble, an independent online video platform, has reported that he left Europe after the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. Pavlovski criticized the measures taken against Durov, stating that France had “crossed a red line” by arresting him for not censoring speech. “Rumble will not stand for this behavior and will use every legal means available to fight for freedom of expression, a universal human right,” he stressed. Rumble was banned in France due to its refusal to censor Russian news sources in 2022. However, Pavlovski noted that they were fighting this in court and expressed hope for Durov’s immediate release.
