This time, the co-founder of multiple Silicon Valley tech ventures, including Ripple, has pledged a whopping $10 million to support Kamala Harris’s campaign. “It’s time for the Democrats to have a new approach to tech innovation, including crypto. I believe [Kamala Harris] will ensure that American technology dominates the world, which is why I’m donating $10M in XRP in support of her,” Larsen said. In September 2024, This year, Chris Larsen contributed three times to Future Forward, a super PAC backing Vice President Kamala Harris. Altogether, before his latest $10 million commitment announced on Monday, Larsen had already provided approximately $1.9 million to boost Harris’s campaign, both directly and through PACs.

Following the statement on X, the CEO of Ripple Labs, Brad Garlinghouse, responded to his partner’s comment. “I respect Chris’ (and everyone’s!) right to support whomever they think is best to lead the U.S,” Garlinghouse wrote. “We need to immediately change course from this administration’s misguided war on crypto. Ripple will continue to engage with both Democrats and Republicans in the final days of the campaigns (and after the election) to promote pro- crypto policies. It’s not about party lines; it’s about championing policies that drive blockchain and crypto innovation.”
