Ripple’s enterprise stablecoin RLUSD takes a major leap into institutional finance with 24/7 access to tokenized Blackrock and Vaneck assets, boosting liquidity and DeFi exposure.
Ripple Connects Blackrock’s BUIDL to RLUSD as Institutional Tokenization Accelerates

Ripple RLUSD Gains Direct Access to Blackrock’s BUIDL Through Tokenized Gateway
Tokenized assets are gaining traction among institutional investors as blockchain infrastructure providers deepen real-world financial integrations. Ripple announced on Sept. 23 that Ripple USD (RLUSD), its stablecoin built for enterprises, will be connected to Securitize’s asset tokenization platform through “a smart contract that would allow holders of Blackrock’s BUIDL and Vaneck’s VBILL to exchange their shares to Ripple for RLUSD.”
Ripple stated:
With this smart contract, BUIDL and VBILL holders can instantly exchange their shares for RLUSD 24/7, unlocking additional stable, on-chain transfers.
BUIDL, Blackrock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund, and VBILL, Vaneck’s Treasury Fund Ltd., are tokenized representations of short-term U.S. Treasury strategies and mark each firm’s entrance into public blockchain-based asset issuance. RLUSD is issued under a New York Department of Financial Services Trust Company Charter and backed 1:1 with high-quality liquid assets.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse commented on social media platform X: “Very excited to share that Blackrock’s BUIDL and Vaneck’s VBILL tokenized fund holders can redeem shares for RLUSD/ ETH 24/7 365 through Securitize, and soon to come RLUSD/XRPL. Enterprise-grade instant onchain liquidity at your fingertips. That’s real utility.”
RLUSD’s integration enables constant redemption and increased liquidity, while enhancing exposure to on-chain yield and decentralized finance ( DeFi) applications. Ripple noted:
This marks the first integration of RLUSD into Securitize’s platform, with additional use cases and assets planned. Securitize is also integrating with the XRP Ledger (XRPL) to expand access and bring new utility to the XRPL ecosystem.
Ripple highlighted its third-party attestations, asset segregation, and clear redemption policies to reinforce its institutional credibility. The stablecoin is already active across DeFi platforms and liquidity pools, with more than $700 million in market capitalization. While some regulators remain cautious toward tokenized financial products, proponents argue that enterprise-grade digital assets like RLUSD offer enhanced efficiency, compliance, and transparency in modern capital markets.
