US President Donald Trump’s administration has reportedly pressured Romanian authorities to lift travel restrictions on controversial influencer and memecoin promoter Andrew Tate, along with his brother Tristan, who face serious allegations in Romania. Currently under judicial control, the Tates can travel within Romania under specific legal conditions, while both brothers deny any wrongdoing. The Financial Times revealed that US officials discussed the Tates’ case in a recent phone call with Romanian officials, and Richard Grenell, Trump’s special envoy, raised the issue again during a meeting at the Munich Security Conference. Grenell has previously expressed support for the Tates on social media, and a request was made to return their passports for travel during the ongoing court proceedings.
