AEON Launches Agentic Checkout V2, Bringing AI-Powered Travel Booking to Travala

AEON, the settlement layer built for the AI economy, has launched Agentic Checkout V2, expanding its agentic commerce infrastructure beyond e-commerce purchases to travel bookings. The updated version enables AI agents to search and book hotel stays through Travala, allowing users to delegate an entire travel purchase to an AI agent while managing the funds used for the transaction through an on-chain agent wallet.

Press release

Agentic Checkout V2 builds on the first version of AEON’s Agentic Checkout, which enabled AI agents to autonomously search, shop, and complete purchases across e-commerce platforms such as Shopify. With the addition of travel booking, the infrastructure now extends the agentic commerce flow from purchasing individual products to executing more complex, intent-driven transactions.

From Shopping for Products to Booking a Stay

With Agentic Checkout V2, users can give an AI agent a travel request in natural language, such as a destination, travel dates, number of guests, and budget. The agent can then search available hotel stays through Travala, evaluate suitable options, and proceed with the booking once the user selects the preferred stay.

The integration brings a new category of commerce into AEON’s Agentic Checkout infrastructure: services and experiences that require the agent to understand context, evaluate options, and complete a transaction on the user’s behalf.

Agent Wallet: Giving Agents Access to Funds, Not the User’s Wallet

Supporting these transactions is the agent wallet layer, which gives each AI agent a dedicated financial environment for managing the funds required for agentic commerce.

The agent wallet is designed around on-chain wallet capabilities, allowing users to fund an agent, manage available balances, and maintain a transparent record of transactions executed by the agent. Rather than giving an AI agent unrestricted access to a user’s primary wallet, users can separate the funds used for agentic activities and monitor how those funds are spent.

Transaction records provide an additional layer of visibility, allowing users to track agent activity across purchases and bookings and understand where funds have been used.

For travel, this means an agent can move from a request such as “find me a hotel in Singapore for three nights under my budget” to a completed booking, while the financial activity remains tied to a dedicated wallet and recorded transaction flow.

Agentic Commerce Is Moving From Assistance to Execution

The expansion comes as major technology and payments companies increasingly move AI agents beyond recommendation and search toward actual commerce execution.

Stripe launched Link’s wallet for agents in April 2026, allowing users to authorize agents to make purchases using one-time-use cards or Shared Payment Tokens while keeping underlying payment credentials away from the agent.

More recently, Meta integrated Link’s agent wallet with Muse, enabling the AI agent to make purchases across the internet. For merchants outside the Link network, Muse can use a single-use virtual card scoped to an approved purchase.

The same infrastructure is also being used with Grok Bot, where users can connect Link and instruct the agent to make online purchases, with individual spending requests requiring user approval. Stripe’s current agent wallet ecosystem lists Muse and Grok Bot among the AI agents that can use Link for purchases.

These developments point to a broader shift in the role of AI agents: agents are increasingly being designed not only to understand what users want, but also to take the economic actions required to fulfill those intentions.

AEON Agentic Checkout V2 extends that model into travel, where the transaction is no longer simply a product purchase but a complete service booking involving dates, availability, pricing, room selection, and payment.

Expanding the Agentic Commerce Surface

The addition of Travala is part of AEON’s broader effort to make Agentic Checkout usable across different types of commerce rather than limiting agents to conventional online retail.

The first version established the foundation for agents to discover products, build carts, and complete purchases across e-commerce environments. V2 expands that capability to travel, where an agent can interpret a more complex request and execute a booking based on multiple parameters.

The underlying infrastructure is designed to support different payment environments and commerce interfaces while maintaining defined financial boundaries between the agent and the user. This creates a path toward a broader agentic commerce stack in which an AI agent can coordinate multiple types of economic activity through a common financial execution and settlement layer:

  • Agentic Checkout gives agents the ability to interact with commerce environments and execute purchases or bookings.
  • The AEON AI Card provides a bridge to existing card-based commerce, allowing agents to transact through established payment networks within defined spending parameters.
  • The Agent Wallet provides an on-chain financial environment where users can fund agents, manage available funds, and maintain transaction records.

As AI agents become capable of handling increasingly complex tasks, the infrastructure required to support them must extend beyond intelligence and interfaces. Agents need ways to access funds, interact with commerce systems, execute transactions, and operate within financial boundaries that users can understand and control.

With Agentic Checkout V2, AEON is extending that infrastructure from AI-powered shopping to AI-executed commerce, beginning with hotel bookings through Travala and moving toward a broader settlement layer for the AI economy.
