This article was published more than a year ago. Some information may no longer be current.

Martin Shkreli, also known as “Pharma Bro,” has doubled down on his position of shorting Microstrategy, the public company that owns the most bitcoin. Answering a social media post criticizing his pessimistic stance on Microstrategy and bitcoin, and asking if this was the right call to make, Shkreli replied it absolutely was. In a recent edition of his podcast, he acknowledged that shorting Microstrategy had been a little painful, due to the positive performance of the stock. Nonetheless, Shkreli stated that he believed that Microstrategy’s executive chairman Michael Saylor was “insane,” claiming that his bitcoin gambit would not end well, and would hurt the company in the long term.
