OKX and Chainalysis to Deploy AI for Proactive Fraud Prevention

OKX announced the expansion of its partnership with Chainalysis on February 26, 2026, shifting its security focus from reactive tracing to proactive prevention. By integrating the Alterya fraud prevention layer, OKX can now detect scam infrastructure across the web and social media, linking those signals to financial identifiers to block withdrawals to fraudulent accounts in real time. This initiative addresses the surge in AI-enabled scams, such as deepfake impersonations, which have significantly increased the profitability of digital asset fraud.

The deployment of Alterya follows a devastating year for the industry, as Chainalysis estimates that scammers stole $17 billion in crypto in 2025. Alterya already monitors over $23 billion in monthly transactions and has successfully prevented more than $300 million in losses over the past year. By integrating these AI-driven defenses directly into its withdrawal workflows, OKX joins a growing group of exchanges that have reported up to a 60% reduction in successful fraud attempts.

“The wild west days of crypto are over. What we’re building here is trust, radical transparency, and empowerment for millions,” says Haider Rafique, Global Managing Partner at OKX.
