Firmware Enhances Profitability of ASIC Miners

Nicehash, the bitcoin hashing power marketplace, has partnered with Marathon Digital Holdings to launch custom firmware for ASIC miners optimized for its mining platform. Known as Nicehash Firmware, the product, powered by Marathon, is designed to help miners drive greater efficiency from ASIC devices and increase revenue.

In its June 14 statement, NiceHash stated that miners using this product would be subject to firmware fees as low as 2% and 1.4% when using Nicehash as their primary pool. According to Nicehash, the firmware can be installed on ASICs running air, hydro, and single-phase or two-phase immersion cooling systems.

Commenting on the firmware launch, Vladimir Hožjan, CEO of Nicehash, highlighted how Marathon was instrumental in helping his firm add this solution to its product portfolio.

“We at Nicehash have been searching for a firmware solution for ASIC miners for several years, as suitable firmware was missing in our product portfolio. Marathon has impressed us with its firmware product, which demonstrates high quality and reliability. Our joint efforts will ensure we stay ahead of this rapidly evolving industry,” Hožjan said.

The CEO stated that Nicehash’s partnership with Marathon will strengthen its market position and enable miners globally to attain unparalleled efficiency and profitability.

Ashu Swami, CTO of Marathon Digital Holdings, noted that the collaboration with Nicehash permits the publicly traded company to introduce advanced safety and optimization features to Bitcoin miners, irrespective of their size, thereby boosting their performance and profitability.

Per the announcement, Nicehash’s firmware is anticipated to assist Bitcoin miners in maximizing profits following the halving event, which resulted in a further reduction of the block reward.
