Metaplanet Solidifies Position as Asia’s Top BTC Holder
Japanese company, Metaplanet has announced the purchase of an additional 150 BTC at an average price of approximately $84,000 (12.6 million yen), pushing its total bitcoin holdings to 3,350 BTC. With a current market value exceeding $291 million, the company continues to solidify its position as Asia’s largest corporate bitcoin holder.
This latest acquisition aligns with Metaplanet’s ongoing treasury strategy to increase shareholder value through bitcoin accumulation. The company has now spent a total of $282 million (42.2 billion yen) on its BTC strategy.
Metaplanet uses a proprietary metric called BTC Yield to evaluate performance, measuring bitcoin growth relative to share dilution. BTC Yield surged to 309.8% in Q4 2024 after aggressive accumulation and price gains. So far in 2025, BTC Yield stands at 68.3%.
Notably, the company recently added Eric Trump to its Strategic Board of Advisors, a move that has drawn attention amid rising institutional interest in bitcoin. As Metaplanet continues its aggressive crypto strategy, it remains at the forefront of bitcoin adoption in the region.
