Metamask Card Launches in the U.S.
Metamask, one of the popular crypto wallets has announced the kickoff of its limited pilot program for the Metamask card in the U.S. The Metamask card allows crypto users to spend cryptocurrency held in a Metamask wallet, physically or online.
The Metamask card functions like a regular debit card and can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Crypto holders in the U.S. can access the pilot program by signing up for the waitlist.
The rollout of the Metamask card in the U.S. follows earlier rollouts in the E.U., U.K., Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia with eligible currencies including USDC, USDT, and WETH.
Lorenzo Santos, Senior Product Manager at Consensys said,
“Metamask card pilot gives people more freedom to spend crypto. Metamask card represents a major step to removing the friction that has traditionally existed between the blockchain and real-world commerce.”
The Metamask card eliminates the necessity of transferring your crypto to a bank or centralized exchange in order to spend it, opening the door for more adoption. The combination of Metamask’s security and Mastercard’s extensive merchant network offers a fast, cost-effective, and secure spending experience.
