Mempool.space and Several Mining Pools Launch Bitcoin Transaction Accelerator
In the past few days, the average BTC transfer fee has been below $1, or approximately 7.7 satoshis per virtual byte. Since late June, the average fee has stayed below the $3-4 range after reaching record highs again on June 7. Mempool.space revealed the launch of its transaction accelerator, which speeds up transactions for those willing to pay a bit extra for quicker miner confirmation.
Mempool.space announced the opening of the beta version. “Click Accelerate from the transaction page and pay with lightning or fiat. No sign up necessary,” the X post reads. The team also mentioned that the initial pool partners associated with Mempool Accelerator include Foundry, Mara, SBI Crypto, Spiderpool, and Ocean Mining. The company sends the request to a pool of partners who prioritize the transfer based on the payment.
Mempool.space added that a dashboard is now available on the web portal to display transactions for transparency. Alongside a picture of a mined block, the team explained, “as part of our mission to improve transparency, the block audit feature has been updated to incorporate acceleration bid boosts (the numbers in purple).” Mempool.space is not the pioneer in launching an accelerator program, as other mining pools such as Viabtc provide similar options, with some even offering free prioritization allotments daily.
