Kucoin’s Top Lawyer Promoted to CEO
Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange Kucoin appointed its former Chief Legal Officer BC Wong as CEO, according to a press release provided to Bitcoin.com.
The eight-year-old firm which boasts $3 billion in daily trading volume and 38 million customers, mentioned its focus on “compliance and reliability” as part of the rationale for promoting Wong.
The Singaporean lawyer led Kucoin’s efforts to secure regulatory licenses in multiple jurisdictions as the exchange’s chief legal officer. And now, as the firm’s CEO, Wong will focus on “global growth and innovation while maintaining regulatory compliance,” the release states.
“Our priority is to build a reliable platform for our users,” Wong said. “As CEO, I am focused on enhancing our global presence and fostering collaboration with regulators.”
