Jailed Binance employee, Tigran Gambaryan, was denied the use of a wheelchair while entering court and had to use crutches, causing visible pain and distress. His lawyers filed a new bail application citing medical grounds and blocked access to him. The prosecution opposed the application, claiming Tigran was not ill despite medical records recommending urgent surgery. The judge will continue hearing the bail application and trial on September 4th. Tigran pleaded for proper medical care and access to legal counsel and embassy representatives. The judge ordered him to be allowed a wheelchair. Tigran’s wife, Yuki Gambaryan, released a statement condemning the Nigerian government’s actions, urging the U.S. government to intervene and ensure Tigran’s release, and criticizing the withholding of medical records and denial of his health issues.
