Ten hours ago, the German government’s bitcoin wallets transferred 1,205 BTC to various parties. At 7:40 a.m. EDT, the wallets held approximately 38,621 BTC, but by 4:30 p.m., the government’s bitcoin holdings had dropped to 26,686 BTC after divesting an additional 11,935 BTC. Currently, the government’s bitcoin wallet is valued at approximately $1.5 billion in U.S. dollars. Throughout the day, deposits were made to Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, Cumberland, and Flow Traders. The first three are crypto exchanges, while the latter two entities are market makers and or over-the-counter (OTC) dealers. In total, including the 1,205 BTC, roughly $741 million in value was transferred using current exchange rates. The wallets experienced multiple inflows during the later part of the afternoon. Meanwhile, at 4:30 p.m., bitcoin ( BTC) is trading at $56,363 per coin, down 1.6% over the last day.
