Gate Bets on High-Speed Layer 2 Amid Ecosystem Overhaul

Crypto exchange Gate has announced the launch of Gate Layer, a high-performance layer 2 network designed to deliver faster, cheaper, and more scalable web3 services. The company also unveiled a major GT token ecosystem upgrade, positioning GT at the center of its expanding blockchain infrastructure.

Built on the OP Stack, Gate Layer offers EVM compatibility, enabling seamless migration for Ethereum-based DApps. It is estimated to have a throughput of 5,700+ transactions per second (TPS), 1-second block times, and ultra-low fees.

The network design will enable it to deliver faster, more cost-efficient alternative to existing blockchains with cross-chain interoperability, powered by Layer Zero. This allows asset transfers across Ethereum, Binance Chain, Polygon, Solana, and other major chains.

Gate is also introducing three flagship products: Perp, a perpetual futures trading hub with deep liquidity; Gate Fun, a no-code token launchpad for small creators and meme projects; and Meme Go, a real-time meme token tracker and trading tool. The GT token will serve as the exclusive gas token for Gate Layer.
