In response to compliance requests from Japan’s Financial Services Agency, crypto exchange Gate.io has announced the suspension of new account registrations for customers based in Japan, effective from July 22, 2024. The exchange is ceasing all services in the country due to regulatory pressures. However, Gate.io has expressed its intention to comply with Japanese laws and regulations in the future and is planning to support its customers by migrating them to exchanges that comply with Japanese regulations. The exact date for the complete shutdown of the exchange in Japan has not been disclosed yet.
