Backed‘s new tokenized equities include bMSFT (Microsoft), bGME (Gamestop), bMSTR (Microstrategy), bTSLA (Tesla), and bGOOGL (Alphabet Class A). These tokens, fully backed by their respective stocks, allow investors to trade around the clock on blockchain platforms.
Backed’s initiative aims to merge traditional finance with blockchain technology, promoting accessibility and flexibility in financial markets. “Our latest additions, including bMSFT, bGME, bMSTR, bTSLA, and bGOOGL, represent our commitment to bridging traditional finance with the innovative world of blockchain,” Bernardo Quintao, the head of business development at Backed said.
Quintao added:
This is a major step towards democratizing financial markets and empowering investors with greater flexibility and control over their assets.
By issuing tokenized versions of major stocks, Backed insists it aims to democratize financial markets, enabling onchain trading and self-custody of assets. Alongside equities, Backed provides tokenized corporate and government bonds, such as T-bills.
Recently, the Arbitrum DAO selected Backed’s bIB01 token for a portion of its treasury diversification. The latest move by Backed is part of a broader trend toward integrating traditional financial assets with blockchain to create a more interconnected and flexible financial ecosystem.
