Ether Guild Launches: New Initiative Aims to Boost the Cryptocurrency’s Value
The Ethereum community has launched a new non-profit organization dubbed Ether Guild to help bolster the value of ether ( ETH) whose underperformance has resulted in internal discord and even death threats to Aya Miyaguchi, president and former executive director of the Ethereum Foundation.
Ether Guild was announced on Monday and is one of several entities supporting the Ethereum network in different ways. Another new entity created in the aftermath of Miyaguchi’s banishment is Etherealize, which recently added revered developer Danny Ryan as co-founder. Etherealize focuses on cultivating institutional adoption of Ethereum’s ecosystem.
Ethereum was billed as “the world computer” by creator Vitalik Buterin when the network was launched in 2015. Now, after suffering a 50% decline in value and shedding $250 billion since December 2024 when ether ( ETH) was trading at roughly $4,000, Ether Guild wants to lengthen the original tagline to include “ ETH is money.”

“Ethereum is the world computer, ETH is money,” reads an image posted by the organization. “Without Ethereum, there would be no value for ETH. Without ETH, there would be no economic security for Ethereum.”
Ether is currently trading at $1,951.21 at the time of reporting, up 4.66% over the past 24 hours.
