Blockchain Parser Data Reveals 2010 Whale’s Bitcoin Transfers
A mysterious bitcoin whale has once again offloaded a great deal of bitcoins minted in 2010. The entity transferred exactly 2,000 BTC through 40 separate transactions, all finalized at block height 844,625. The entity maintained its usual behavior, with all 40 transfers originating from distinct Pay-to-Public-Key-Hash (P2PKH) wallets, commonly called legacy addresses. The transfers were first discovered by btcparser.com and they were also mapped on theholyroger.com.

All the funds were first directed to a single Pay-to-Script-Hash (P2SH) address before being redistributed. The 2,000 BTC was transferred at block height 844,627. Additionally, the enigmatic entity moved the corresponding 2,000 bitcoin cash ( BCH) from all 40 legacy wallets. That amount, worth just over $1 million, was shifted at BCH block height 846,971. The transfer of 2,000 BTC was rated poorly for privacy by the blockchain explorer Blockchair.
Many transactions received a score of 0 out of 100, with approximately four inconsistencies. Privacy concerns arose from detected matched addresses and the “send everything” option to move the BTC. In 2024 alone, Bitcoin.com News has tracked this elusive whale on four separate occasions. This also marks the 17th instance where our newsdesk caught the same entity spending 1,000 or 2,000 BTC in a single transaction string since 2020.
The re-emergence of the cryptic 2010 bitcoin whale has once again sent ripples through the Bitcoin blockchain, demonstrating the enduring influence of early digital currency pioneers. This year’s repeated, high-value transactions suggest a strategic financial plan similar to the whale’s past movements. As we continue to observe this whale’s patterns, it serves as a reminder of the evolving and intriguing nature of Bitcoin’s onchain landscape.
