Elon Musk Claims ‘Bitcoin Style’ Encryption for New XChat Features

Elon Musk has announced that the new XChat feature on the X platform will incorporate “ Bitcoin style” encryption, enhancing user privacy and security. According to Musk’s recent post, the updated XChat will include features such as encryption, vanishing messages, and the ability to send various file types, along with audio and video calling capabilities. The new architecture is built using Rust, aiming to provide a robust and secure messaging experience. This rollout reflects Musk’s commitment to improving communication tools on the platform while prioritizing user confidentiality. However, many in the crypto community were quick to point out that “ Bitcoin style” encryption doesn’t mean much, with Samson Mow simply replying, “ Bitcoin isn’t encrypted.”
