Boosting Web3 Innovation in the Middle East

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Crypto Centre and the Swiss early-stage blockchain venture capital firm CVVC have partnered to support the Web3 ecosystems in Dubai and Switzerland. The partnership agreement, signed in early October, represents a significant step towards strengthening ties between the two ecosystems.

According to a statement, the two ecosystems will be scaled up through educational initiatives such as workshops and seminars. They will also exchange resources and workspaces and collaborate on events such as the Web3 Hub during the World Economic Forum in Davos early next year. CVVC will also partner with the DMCC-Bybit Hackathon.

These joint activities demonstrate the two firms’ commitment to fostering and driving blockchain technology innovation in the region. Feryal Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer of DMCC, praised the collaboration, which is expected to accelerate Web3 innovation in the two countries.

“We recognise the immense value that greater collaboration, knowledge exchange, and resource-sharing can bring to unlocking the potential of Web3. By connecting our ecosystems, we can drive the next phase of global Web3 adoption and pave the way for a more interconnected and innovative future for businesses worldwide,” Ahmadi added.

Mathias Ruch, founder and CEO of CVVC, described the collaboration as a platform for sharing ideas between Switzerland and the Middle East. Fellow founder Olaf Hannemann said the Middle East’s Web3 ecosystem has matured significantly, “driven by a long-term vision and a deeply rooted motivation to invest in future technologies.”
