Cementing Crypto Finance’s Position in the European Digital Asset Value Chain

Crypto Finance, a subsidiary of the German multinational Deutsche Börse Group, has been granted four licenses by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority or Bafin. These licenses, which encompass regulated digital asset trading, settlement, and custody services, are seen as solidifying Crypto Finance’s position in the regulated European digital asset value chain.

In a statement, the subsidiary said the licenses not only strengthen Crypto Finance’s position in advancing the digital asset ecosystem but also underscore its commitment to providing seamless, institutional-grade services within the regulatory framework.

A New Milestone for Crypto Finance

Stijn Vander Straeten, the CEO of Crypto Finance Group, commented on his firm’s acquisition of the four Bafin licenses, saying:

We are thrilled that Crypto Finance (Deutschland) Gmbh is now licensed by Bafin, the highest benchmark in regulatory oversight, as a crypto custody provider in Germany. This distinguishes our offering as one of the few to meet these exceptionally high standards.

In addition to being one of the few to achieve the high standards required, the granting of the licenses also demonstrates Bafin’s confidence and trust in Crypto Finance.

Eric Viohl, the Managing Director of Crypto Finance (Deutschland) Gmbh, explained how obtaining the licenses enhances the subsidiary’s appeal to users, particularly institutional investors who are interested in investing or gaining exposure to the digital asset market.
