Despite Chinaβs advancement towards becoming a cashless society, the digital yuan faces skepticism from its users regarding privacy and the limited number of places where it can be used. Over $250 billion worth of transactions have been conducted using the digital yuan by July 2023, indicating significant use despite concerns. Efforts are being made to enhance adoption through measures like consumption coupons and subsidies.
