Partnership Between Crossmint and Visa Set to Usher in Agentic Commerce Era
Crossmint has announced a strategic partnership with Visa to usher in a new era of “agentic commerce,” where artificial intelligence (AI) agents can securely transact on behalf of users.
According to the announcement on X, this initiative, powered by Visa Intelligent Commerce, will allow consumers to designate trusted AI agents that can make purchases, manage payments, and deliver personalized shopping experiences safely and at scale.
At the core of the collaboration is a focus on building a secure and trustworthy AI commerce ecosystem. Visa’s payment infrastructure will offer the backbone for transaction security, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention, while Crossmint will support the development of seamless integrations for AI agents to operate within these parameters.
The partnership also aims to create best practices around consumer protection, data privacy, and AI agent authorization, setting an industry standard for how autonomous systems interact with financial tools.
With Visa’s global network of over 4.8 billion payment credentials, 150 million merchants, and 14,500 financial institutions, the alliance is poised to accelerate the adoption of AI-enabled commerce worldwide.
Crossmint, known for its web3 infrastructure and digital asset management tools, sees the collaboration as a major step toward blending crypto-native innovation with traditional payment networks.
