Craigwright.net Legal Notice: ‘Craig Wright is Not the Author of Bitcoin White Paper’

It appears that Craig Wright’s era of asserting himself as Satoshi Nakamoto is drawing to a close. Recently, Bitcoin.com News reported on a British High Court judge’s recommendation for a perjury investigation into Wright. Currently, Wright’s whereabouts are unknown, and it is presumed he left the United Kingdom after losing the lawsuit against the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA).

The website craigwright.net now features a legal notice stating that Wright is not the creator of Bitcoin. It says, “Dr Craig Steven Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto” and it explains that Wright was “found by the High Court of England and Wales to have been dishonest in his claims to have been the person behind the pseudonym.” The site no longer contains any additional pages or the posts previously authored by Wright.

Archived snapshots of the site reveal that Craig Wright made numerous assertions on the page, including stating, “Bitcoinsv is the original Bitcoin,” and that Wright is the “creator of Bitcoin.” The site also featured an altered copy of the Bitcoin white paper, listing “Craig Steven Wright” as the author. All of this content has since been removed and is now only viewable through archived snapshots.

Along with the revamped craigwright.net website, Cobra, the anonymous owner of bitcoin.org, informed his 47,800 X followers that the Bitcoin white paper is once again accessible in the U.K. through bitcoin.org. “The default judgment obtained fraudulently by Craig Wright has been overturned,” Cobra said on X. “Thank you to everyone who helped.”
