Cointelegraph has alerted its users to a fraudulent pop-up appearing on its website, falsely claiming to offer “Cointelegraph ICO Airdrops” and “CTG tokens.” The malicious pop-up, which emerged on June 23, 2025, encourages users to connect their cryptocurrency wallets and enter personal information in exchange for nearly $5,500 worth of non-existent tokens. Cointelegraph has advised users against interacting with these pop-ups, emphasizing that they should not click on them, connect their wallets, or provide any personal details. The company is currently working to resolve the issue following a front-end exploit that has also affected other crypto platforms recently, such as Coinmarketcap.
