Coinbase Snags Opyn Leadership in Lift-Out Acquisition

Opyn CEO Andrew Leon and Head of Research Joseph Clark will provide their expertise in areas such as perpetual options or simply “perps,” which are essentially derivative products with no expiry date. The Opyn team also has experience with verified pools, which are whitelisted liquidity pools that have gone through compliance and KYC checks. “The team brings a rare combination of deep onchain technical expertise, strong understanding of traditional market structure, and hands-on experience building decentralized products from the ground up,” Coinbase wrote on its blog. “Their experience will help us accelerate our efforts to bring more of our exchange business onchain, including advancing our onchain markets infrastructure like Verified Pools.”
