Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said on Wednesday that he engaged with over a dozen senators from both Democratic and Republican parties in Washington, D.C., over the past 48 hours. The discussions focused on establishing clear regulations for the cryptocurrency industry and enhancing consumer protections. Armstrong highlighted substantial bipartisan support in the Senate for these efforts, particularly following the House of Representatives’ passage of the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21). He expressed optimism about the increasing impact of cryptocurrency advocates on policy development. However, the White House and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler have both voiced opposition to the bill.
