Chaos Labs Lands $55M to Enhance Onchain Risk Management in Defi

Chaos Labs, a firm specializing in onchain risk management, security, and incentive strategies within decentralized finance ( defi), has closed a $55 million Series A funding round. The investment, led by Haun Ventures, includes participation from prominent firms such as F-Prime Capital, Slow Ventures, and Spartan Capital. Existing backers like Lightspeed Venture Partners and Galaxy Ventures also contributed.

“Today, we are thrilled to announce that Chaos Labs has successfully closed a $55 million Series A funding round, led by Haun Ventures,” Chaos Labs stated on Thursday. “This pivotal investment will fuel our mission to enhance onchain economic security through innovative risk management solutions.”

According to the team, the funding aims to support Chaos Labs’ mission to improve economic security within the defi sector through advanced risk management tools. Founded to address the inherent risks in defi, Chaos Labs offers a platform that automates protocol parameter recommendations, helping defi protocols enhance their security and operational efficiency.

The startup’s technology, utilized by over 20 protocols to date, including Aave and GMX, has already secured significant volumes—$860 billion in cumulative trading and $25 billion in loans. The company’s services also extend to incentive optimization, including liquidity incentive programs and Sybil detection, which Chaos Labs believes are crucial for sustainable growth in the defi ecosystem.
