Chainalysis Chief Economist Joins Tether Amidst Ongoing Class Action Lawsuit

Amidst a legal challenge, Tether, the USDT stablecoin issuer, has made a strategic appointment. The Chief Economist of crypto surveillance company Chainalysis, Philip Gradwell, has been brought on board as Tether’s Head of Economics. This move comes at a time when Tether and its sister crypto exchange Bitfinex are facing a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges that the companies operated a sophisticated scheme to artificially inflate the price of cryptocurrencies, thereby creating an illusion of increased demand. The appointment of Philip Gradwell is seen as an effort to enhance communication with regulatory bodies and stakeholders, and to advance the understanding of crypto adoption.
