Cassava Technologies, founded by Zimbabwean telecom tycoon Strive Masiyiwa, is collaborating with Nvidia to establish Africa’s first AI factory. Nvidia’s advanced computing and AI software will be deployed at Cassava’s South African data centers by June 2025, with plans to expand to Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria. This initiative aims to equip African businesses and researchers with world-class AI infrastructure, fostering innovation and scaling bold ideas. Cassava, as a Nvidia cloud partner, seeks to introduce accelerated computing to Africa, marking a major step in the continent’s participation in the fourth industrial revolution.
