Bybit announced on 22 December 2025 that it will cease services for residents of Japan and gradually apply account restrictions starting in 2026. Users who receive a residency notice must complete Identity Verification Level 2 (proof of address/KYC 2) by 22 January 2026 to retain access to bybit.com; otherwise they will be classified as Japanese residents and face service limitations.
