Streamlining Fiat- Crypto Transactions

The Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitget announced Feb. 25 that it had integrated with the payment solutions provider Callpay to “offer deposit and withdrawal services in South African rand (ZAR).” It described the integration as a move to enhance accessibility and streamline fiat-to- crypto transactions for South African users.

According to a statement, the collaboration enables South Africa-based users to deposit and withdraw rands via ‘a secure and efficient gateway.’ Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, characterized the latest collaboration as a demonstration of how far the exchange is willing to go to make crypto accessible.

“Our partnership with Callpay underscores our commitment to making crypto trading more accessible and user-friendly. By integrating ZAR deposits and withdrawals, we are empowering South African users with a reliable and convenient way to participate in the global crypto economy,” Chen said.

As previously reported by Bitcoin.com News, Bitget had a phenomenal 2024 in Africa, where the number of users increased by 1,600%, with Nigeria emerging as one of its top three markets for crypto usage. The report attributed Bitget’s success on the African continent to the role played by key opinion leaders (KOLs) in spreading educational awareness about its ecosystem. The rapid growth of the TON ecosystem was another factor that fueled user growth in Africa.

Meanwhile, the Bitget statement revealed that the exchange is running a promotion to mark the integration announcement. As part of this campaign, South African users who convert ZAR to crypto between Feb. 24 and March 10 are eligible to receive BGB rebates of up to 25%. To participate in the promotion, South Africa-based Bitget users must complete identity verification, make a ZAR deposit via Callpay, and convert it to crypto.
