Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Start the Week With Outflows
Sept. 3 proved challenging for the 12 bitcoin ETFs, which reported a combined net loss of $287.78 million. Fidelity’s FBTC took the biggest hit, losing $162.62 million. Grayscale’s GBTC was next, seeing $50.39 million leave, followed by Ark Invest’s and 21shares’ ARKB, which shed $33.6 million, according to sosovalue.xyz stats.
Other funds didn’t fare much better. Bitwise’s BITB recorded a loss of $24.96 million, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC saw $8.41 million exit, and Vaneck’s HODL experienced a $3.28 million withdrawal. Valkyrie’s BRRR dropped $2.55 million, and Invesco’s and Galaxy’s BTCO reported a $2.32 million reduction. On the bright side, Blackrock’s IBIT, Wisdomtree’s BTCW, and Hashdex’s DEFI remained steady, with no gains or losses.
The $287.78 million withdrawal brings the total net inflows for bitcoin ETFs down to $17.31 billion. Collectively, the 12 funds now hold $52.69 billion worth of bitcoin, representing approximately 4.58% of bitcoin’s market capitalization. Sosovalue.xyz metrics show ether ETFs also saw declines on Tuesday, with $47.40 million flowing out of the nine funds during the trading session. However, only two funds, FETH and ETHE, were notably affected.
Grayscale’s ETHE led the ether ETF outflows, with $52.31 million withdrawn, while Fidelity’s FETH managed to secure a $4.91 million gain. The $47.40 million reduction brings the cumulative net outflows of all nine funds to $524.65 million since July 23. The group of ether ETFs now holds $6.76 billion in assets, representing 2.28% of ethereum’s market cap.
