In Dec 2022, Bitcoin.com introduced VERSE, the official rewards and utility token for the Bitcoin.com ecosystem. By incentivizing and gamifying engagement, VERSE addresses the challenge of onboarding newcomers to the world of financial self-custody and encourages users to safely explore and benefit from the opportunities at the frontier of finance.
About the Verse Brand Refresh
In an ongoing effort to make the Verse ecosystem inviting, relatable, and inclusive, a brand refresh proposal was put forth to the community.
The “Brand Refresh” proposal offered three distinct options for the future direction of the VERSE brand.
- Option 1: “Evolution” – A softer take on the current branding.
- Option 2: “Hearts and Hands” – A bolder, more inclusive branding.
- Option 3: Maintain Status Quo – Keep the current branding.
About Community Voting
This proposal was part of Verse’s decentralized governance system, where token holders use proof of ownership to participate in decision-making processes. This mechanism empowers all VERSE holders to have a say in the ecosystem’s growth and future direction, ensuring that decisions reflect the community’s collective vision.
Results of “Brand Refresh” Community Vote
With an overwhelming majority, the community has chosen Option 2: “Hearts and Hands” as the new direction for the VERSE brand. Detailed results are as follows:
- Option 1: “Evolution” – 20M VERSE (5.42%).
- Option 2: “Hearts and Hands” – 334M VERSE (90.84%).
- Option 3: Maintain Status Quo – 14M VERSE (3.74%).
