BNY and Securitize Push Structured Credit Into the Digital Age

In a move bridging Wall Street credit sophistication with blockchain efficiency, Securitize and BNY have rolled out the Securitize Tokenized AAA CLO Fund (STAC).

The tokenized product is a first-of-its-kind blockchain investment vehicle granting institutional investors exposure to top-tier U.S. dollar CLOs. These structured debt products—long favored for their income-generating resilience—will now live onchain, simplifying access for qualified investors through regulated digital infrastructure.

The fund is backed by Grove Finance, which plans to commit $100 million as an anchor investor. Grove, known for building institutional-grade credit infrastructure, marks STAC’s debut with serious capital and confidence.

BNY, serving as custodian, will also have its investment arm sub-advise the fund. BNY Investments, which oversees $2.1 trillion in assets under management, will apply its structured credit expertise to ensure traditional oversight meets digital innovation.

“Digital assets are a major area of innovation in the investment industry,” said Jose Minaya, Global Head of BNY Investments & Wealth. The BNY exec added:

“Tokenization is a great way to improve access to high-quality credit in an efficient and transparent instrument.”

The collaboration showcases how legacy financial giants are cautiously yet decisively stepping into tokenization. With global CLO issuance topping $1 trillion, onchain funds like STAC represent a shift toward programmable, transparent access to institutional credit markets without sacrificing regulatory guardrails.

For Securitize, the launch embodies its “Tokenizing the World” vision—transforming traditional financial instruments into blockchain-native assets, one fund at a time. And for BNY, it’s another signal that even the most established institutions see blockchain not as a threat, but as the next frontier for asset management.
