The Eigen Foundation has launched its Season 2 stakedrop, offering EIGEN tokens to stakers, ecosystem partners, and community members who contributed to the Eigenlayer network. Eigen Foundation Announces Season 2 Stakedrop Distribution
According to the blog post, the largest portion of the rewards, approximately 70 million EIGEN tokens, will be distributed to stakers and operators who actively participated during Season 2. These tokens will be allocated based on each staker’s pro-rata share of ETH-hours, ensuring fair distribution without a floor to prevent Sybil attacks. The foundation disclosed that eligible participants can claim their tokens through the foundation’s dedicated portal.
“The treatment of reward quantities for LRT protocols is 100% identical to everyone else participating and supporting Eigenlayer through staking and operating in other ways,” the foundation said. “LRTs are receiving their respective stakedrop allocation directly, and each LRT protocol will determine how to allocate any claimed EIGENs on behalf of its community. Please engage with your LRT protocol for the latest information on claims,” the team added.
Ecosystem partners, including validators and other key contributors, will share in 10 million EIGEN tokens. The foundation emphasized the equal importance of each partner’s contribution, distributing rewards accordingly. Finally, about 6 million tokens are set aside for community members, with participants required to verify their social identity to claim their rewards. Further details on the program’s mechanics and additional incentives are expected to be released soon.
