As described on the competition’s Ideapod page, participants must answer one important question from Don and Alex to win the beautiful sterling silver BTC ring that contains $500 USD in bitcoin, and one of ten specially-signed Blockchain Revolution books.

The Bitcoin Killer-App Competition

What’s this important question? Here’s what the Tapscotts want to know:

What blockchain application promises to have a revolutionary and positive impact on both business and society?

To participate in the competition, individuals have to register for the Ideapod platform or download the mobile app on iOS. After registration, participants have to answer the question, submitting their ideas on the Ideapod platform with #blockchainrevolution tag in the text body.

Ten winners will receive signed copies of Blockchain Revolution, written by the Tapscott father and son duo.

Killer-App Competition

The book describes the benefits of using blockchain-based systems for people, international businesses and other organizations.

As said on Don Tapscott’s official web-page, Blockchain Revolution “will be the first book to explain why blockchain technology – a truly open, distributed, global platform – will fundamentally change what we can achieve online, how we do it, and who can participate.”

Also, the premium silver ring loaded with $500 in bitcoin goes to the author of the best idea.

This competition will last until July 22, after which the winners will be chosen.

What Is Ideapod?

Ideapod is a social network for sharing ideas through 40 second videos or text posts of 1,000 characters or less.

The team behind Ideapod supports blockchain technology, understanding its powerful implications for the world. “We believe that blockchain technology has revolutionary potential for transforming the financial sector, how we do business and society,” says Ideapod founder, Justin Brown.

“[Blockchain technology] can even be used to improve how government functions and engages with its citizens,” Brown continues. “For blockchain to reach its potential, it’s important that we focus not only on the technology itself, but also the potential applications of the technology.”

Brown says that their recognition of the blockchain’s potential is what made Ideapod want to partner with the Tapscott’s in this competition.

“We want to demonstrate the wide application of blockchain technology while giving a platform for people with ideas on how to use it,” explains Brown.
